Garlenda Golf Club

The Garlenda Golf Club is located in the Lerrone Valley, one of the most picturesque inland valleys in Liguria, and is surrounded by ancient olive groves and pine forests.

From the highest holes there is a wonderful panorama from the sea to the Maritime Alps. The 18 holes of the course, which was opened in 1965, were designed by architects Morrison and Harris and fit wonderfully into the local landscape without altering the environmental characteristics. Furthermore, in recent years, the course has undergone some modifications that have improved its technical characteristics.

The 18-hole course, which has a length of 6085 metres and a par of 72, is a difficult test for the most gifted players, and a pleasant challenge for golfers with a higher handicap from normal starts. Over the years, the Club has always improved its technical level and is perfectly playable in all seasons.

Attractive MTB or Road Bike Routes

For those who prefer mountain biking, the routes in the hills are attractive, from a simple ride through beech and pine forests to a steep climb for the more adventurous.

In the Finale area, there is even a specific style, which is practised in narrow passages among the rocks overhanging the sea.

Numerous organised groups, spread throughout the area, provide specific information on the trails and excursions, and road and mountain bikes can be hired on site.

Following in the footsteps of the professionals, even amateur cyclists can find on these roads the ideal environment for long rides, accompanied by the colours of the sea and the scents of the splendid inland nature.

Hippodrome of the Flowers

The only racecourse in the entire region of Liguria is located between the Villanova d'Albenga airport and the Garlenda golf course, immersed in a green area, about 2 km from Alassio.

The facility was opened in 1991 and since then can count on a loyal public that has grown up locally, but also on passionate tourists who continue to follow their favourite hobby during the holidays.

Following the race is really exciting both for the general excitement during the race and for the moments of elation when the horses arrive. The drivers are all top professionals and the horses, beautiful, well-groomed animals, are a spectacle in themselves.
