THE STORY ALASSIO
Alassio is 1000 years old. The legend tells Adelasia, daughter of Ottone I, tooks refuge in this territori with Aleramo.
First allocations dated back to X Century, where some families settled in the hill of Madonna delle Grazie ("Castlè"); here still today is preserved the most ancient symbol of Alassio.
These families after went down to the beach creating the "Burgum Alaxii".

THE TOWN
Alassio is the scent of the sea, the warm sun and the blue sky, the lively and soft colours, the heart of the bay.
Sea is clear and the fine sand sweetly descends towards the waves.
Climate is mild because the Bay is protected and the tan is possibile all year long.
In Summer You can enjoy beach life and night entertainments.
It is possibile to play sport every day.
Alassio is wonderful with its lanes, palaces, caffè, boutiques, the famous "Budello", the Muretto, the Vip and the fascinatine Gallinara.


Il Muretto: it is characterized by the autographs of great personalities of Culture, Sport, Show Business, like Hemingway, Coppi, Bartali, Chechi…

St. Croce Church: in Romanesque style, it was founded by Benedectines in XI Century. From its panoramic viewpoint it is possible to enjoy the wonderful sight of the Bay.

Madonna della Guardia Sanctuary: It rises on Tirasso mountain; it was build in 1200 and now is surrounded by a 18000 mts wide park.

Sant'Ambrogio Church: was build in 1450 approximately; at first was Romanesque style but in 1700 was changed in Baroque. Inside there are frescos of XVI and XVII Centuries.
The "Via Julia Augusta" was build in XIII Century and Emperor Augusto gave it the name.
It is between Santa Croce Church and the beginning of Alberga; the road is 4 km long and ends with the structure of San Martino.
In some parts it is original and it is possible to see some Roman ruins of I Century BC.
The below via Aurelia was build only at the beginning of 1800.
